STAY-C® 50

Vitamin C is notoriously unstable and oxidizes rapidly when exposed to air and sunlight. Once it is oxidized, not only is it no longer effective, it actually harms the skin! This is why we at emerginC have chosen to use only StayC-50 in our products.

StayC-50, also known as sodium ascorbyl phosphate, is in fact one of the most stable and bioavailable forms of vitamin C. It is naturally easily converted to L-ascorbic acid after application to the skin. StayC 50 has been scientifically shown to improve photo damage (sun damage), acne and hyperpigmentation.

STAY-C 50 for visibly younger-looking skin

Images show reduction of UV-induced ROS (reactive oxygen species) 3 hours after application of test emulsion. Compared with the SPF 8 control formulation, the addition of 2.5% vitamin E acetate leads to a 23% reduction in ROS levels. The combination of 2.5% Stay-C50 and 2%Acetate reduces ROS by nearly 50%. Stay-C50 not only reduces harmful free radicals, but also helps to increase skin firmness. In volunteers using Stay-C50 emulsion, synthesis of collagen type I and II in connective tissue cells is demonstrated.

StayC-50 not only reduces harmful free radicals, but also helps improve skin firmness. Participants who used StayC-50 on the skin experienced the synthesis of collagen I and III in human fibroblasts.

STAY-C 50 reduces pigment

Stay-C 50 acts on the enzyme tyrosinase (responsible for melanin production), inhibiting excessive melanin production. Studies have shown that StayC 50 reduces melanogenesis in primary human melanocytes by 57%.

STAY-C 50 for reducing the appearance of acne

Skin blemishes and acne are skin conditions that affect not only teenagers, but adults as well. Many factors are involved in the development of skin blemishes and inflammation, including the bacterial growth of Proprionibacterium acnes and peroxidation of sebum.

Clinical studies show that the use of 1% StayC-50 inhibits UVA light-induced talgoxidation (squalene) by 30% and reduces Proprionibacterium acnes.
