What are peptides anyway and what are they good for?
Peptides are now an integral part of modern skin-improving creams. These substances, which are found both in nature and are cleverly recreated biotechnologically (nature-identical), are important signaling substances that control and stimulate numerous functions in the skin. The word peptide comes from the Greek word "to digest. Very appropriate because they generally break down substances or cause chemical reaction. Peptides can turn off pigment production, accelerate cell generation, stimulate blood circulation, among other things. Peptides are composed of a chain of amino acids.
'They are incredibly active'
Peptides can help to boost cellular processes again. For the peptides to work properly, it is essential that the products are properly formulated. Because peptides can work incredibly well, as the late cosmetic chemist Johann Wiechers told us back in 2009: 'For cosmetics, three to four amino acid long chains are used These three to four amino acid long chains do penetrate the skin, albeit with difficulty, but these substances are so incredibly active that a very small concentration is enough for a dramatic effect. Often they are only there at the ppm level (ppm = parts per million, or tenths of a percent, 1 ppm = 0.0001%) in the formulation. Of many such short peptides, I have seen dramatically good clinical study results.'
There are a few major producers in the world that produce peptides for cosmetics. These companies come from the pharmaceutical industry, so they know very well how to make effective formulations. emerginC always uses at least the percentage of peptides that the pharmaceutical company, which makes the peptides, does its testing with; so you will always be able to at least match the result they tested.
What are the main peptides, and what EmerginC products do they come in?
PEPTIDE Argireline®
Clinically proven to reduce the depth of wrinkles by up to 30% after 30 days in a 10% concentration (International Journal of Cosmetic Science, Vol. 24, No. 5, p. 303, October 2002). The peptide relaxes the skin's surface. Read more about it here.
Incorporated into: emerginC Crease Ease Gel (15%) and Crease Ease Emulsion(10%).
PEPTIDE Matrixyl 3000™
One of the most researched anti-age ingredients. It encourages fibroblasts to make new collagen and stimulates repair of the dermal matrix. "A slow-acting collagen injection," this peptide is also called. Read more about it here.
Incorporated into: emerginC Crease Ease Gel and Swift Lift Peptide Firming serum

PEPTIDE Myoxinol®
A complex of Plant Peptides extracted from Hibiscus, which slows down the cellular aging process. It also relaxes the skin's surface making the face look more rested.
Incorporated into:emerginC Crease Ease Gel and the Crease Ease Emulsion.
A patented tri- and tetrapeptide technology that actually acts on all types of collagen in the skin, from 1 to 5, with the goal of creating a more youthful skin aspect. It makes the skin softer, plumper, more elastic. Highly credible 28-day tests have been performed on crow's feet with this peptide.
Incorporated in emerginC Crease Ease Gel and Emulsion and the Swift Lift Peptide Firming Serum
PEPTIDE ColhibinPF
A plant peptide extracted from rice that protects collagen from disintegration by aggressive particles called metalloproteinases (MMPs). The first organic peptide with this effect!
Processed in:emerginCScientific Organics Peptide Booster Serum

PEPTIDE Ameliox®
Reacts with the free sugars in the epidermis, preventing attachment of the sugars to the collagen fibers (this is called glycation - read more about it here). This keeps the fibers soft and resilient. Ameliox enhances the action of argireline.
Incorporates into emerginC Crease Ease Gelsthe Crease Ease Emulsion
PEPTIDE Pepha® Tight
Naturally pure algae extract mixed with polysaccharides (sugars). Instantly firms and tightens the skin while providing a long-term effect by increasing the formation of collagen-1, repairing damaged collagen fibers, protecting against oxidation and stimulating the production of collagen by the skin itself.
