Margaret Richter's plan for Wellbeing and Beauty

The skin inside and out

In Rotterdam beautician and orthomolecular therapist Margaret Richters helps her clients to have beautiful and especially healthy skin. From her own experience she knows how much influence nutrition and lifestyle have on the skin. Through thorough research she helps her clients get rid of their skin problems. How she does this, she describes in this column.

Beyond the skin anamnesis, it helps to do research on all the values in the body. We do this in cooperation with certified medical laboratories such as: Hessels and Grob, RP Sanitas Humanus and Metabolic Balance in the Netherlands and Germany. A complete examination consists of;

  • Examination of blood values
  • Testing intolerances for nutrients
  • Feces examination
  • And a saliva and urine test

Based on the results, skin therapy and nutrition and lifestyle recommendations follow.

The relationship of nutrition on the skin

Many skin problems and skin conditions can be directly linked to the "health" of your gut. In addition, the stomach and liver also affect your skin condition. When a skin problem is present, we speak of a symptom. The cause is an imbalance in intestines, liver or stomach.

I often hear from my clients that they already have a healthy and varied diet. Being aware of what you eat is already a good starting point. By conducting laboratory tests we gain even more insight and can start with the right therapy. My great passion is that I like to analyze thoroughly in cooperation with laboratories. The values indicated in the blood, saliva, urine, feces say a lot. For the right treatment this is of great importance. This way we can really solve the problem!

The premise is that 80% of skin problems come from within and only 20% come from without. This means that the 20% depend on environmental factors. For example, on where you live and what cosmetics you use.

Causes of sensitive skin

  • A weakened immune system, often high intolerances seen in blood and feces
  • Sensitive bowels and digestion that is out of balance due to improper nutrition
  • Hormone imbalances
  • Medication use, alcohol and the use of improper cosmetics

DO'S

  • Finding out and listening to your body's signals after you eat. Such as bloating, fat belly, feeling sleepy after a meal
  • Learn to read labels of products
  • Cooking your own food instead of taking it away
  • Unprocessed food
  • Seasonal nutrition, with sprouts as a supplement
  • Vary foods, for example, don't eat yogurt with nuts every morning
  • Drinking lots of water, tea
  • Taking supplements as probiotics
  • High dosage of vitamin C
  • Beta glucan supplement

DON'TS

  • Foods that cause heat, such as red peppers too many spices
  • Alcohol
  • Dairy
  • Red, raw meat
  • Wheat
  • Gluten
  • Sugar

Skincare

Pay particular attention to metals that are often found in makeup and hair products. I probably don't need to tell you that, but with emerginC's products you're safe.
