Does your skin turn red quickly, is dry and tight, does it react to many products and do you often have rashes even though you never had acne in your youth? Then your skin is telling you in its own way that it is sensitive, sore or bothered and you need to protect it better.
You can be born with a sensitive skin, but it can also come from long use of the wrong products, which were, for example, too aggressive and have "stripped" your skin. We often see this in people who thought they were taking very good care of their skin with many treatments and products. More expensive products often contain higher concentrations of active ingredients, but unfortunately also a lot of perfume, to increase the luxury feeling. Synthetic fragrances are in the top 5 ingredients that can overload a skin.
If your skin feels dry, we recommend the oil-based cleanser from the Rawceuticals line on. Oil is better for sensitive skin because even water can dry it out. FINE: No essential oils, but gentle rose extract and exclusive oils from Hemp and Chia seed, which help repair the skin and form a barrier. The oil can also be used as a treatment. Apply the oil before bed and leave on all night. The rawceuticals Blend restores even the most affected skin. It takes some getting used to, the somewhat greasy structure and coconut / cocoa odor, but those with sensitive skin and for example rosacea skin, swear by it. Many people over 50 with a very dry skin, such as the Klemann sisters, don't want anything else.
emerginC also has a fine line developed specifically for dry skin. The Aromatic Cream Tea cleanser contains three types of tea that soothe and help regenerate the skin. Our absolute highlight is the D-Red serum; packed with alfalfa that contracts veins and instantly reduces redness. But also chamomile, bisobolol hops and vitamin E, which soothe, reduce redness and have moisturizing properties. An absolute must for sensitive skin. After that, you need a protective layer: if you like light, go for the Scientific Organics Glow Guard, if your skin is drier, choose the Hyper Vitalizer cream, if your skin is affected, go for the Rawceuticals Blend.
Of course, none of these top products have synthetic fragrances, parabens, soap, wrong alcohol or other ingredients that strip the skin. Also beware of silicones: they are often found in products for sensitive skin because they give a silky feel (dimethicone), but they seal the skin and they prevent active ingredients from doing their job. In makeup, we think this is fine, a makeup that "lies" on the skin is often better for this skin type. But again: watch out for perfume!
