Why vitamin A? Is vitamin A safe? Retinol/vitamin A? At Indigo Cosmetics we get a lot of questions about vitamin A. There are even entire brands built around it, and that it produces results against wrinkles and acne is now well known and documented. But unfortunately there are also many reports of harmful side effects; your skin becomes very sensitive to sunlight. Pigmentation problems are lurking, you can get hypersensitivities, your skin can become weakened, very red and flaky.

What vitamin A does?

That's why at emerginC we only use RETINOL, a different form of vitamin A than retinoic acid (retin-A). You get the same results, but just a little slower. Our retinol is extracted from carrots in our own lab. So it's all natural and well tolerated. It has been proven that a concentration of 0.3% used over a long period of time gives the best results without side effects. EmerginC products do not contain high concentrations for this reason.

What products with vitamin A can I use safely?
